Recently I did a card class with the lovely Katrina Thompson who teaches classes over at Bella Paperie at Brendale. Bella Paperie used to be Paper Addictions at Lawnton. Debra moved to Brendale a while ago and has a lovely shop there.. The beautiful laces are to die for. The address of the shop is 33/302 South Pine Road, Brendale if you feel inclined to have a look-see.

I also have recently been accepted on to their design team so, I'm a bit excited about that. Makes you "have to" do scrapping stuff!!

I love Cyber Crops and this was a Speed scrap in which we had about an hour twenty to do a layout and upload to the gallery. We had to follow this sketch and use the word "Australia or Australian or Aussie...or any slang term meaning the same". I used Australia in the journalling.

Bird is the Word

It's now the 15th January and I haven't done a post for two weeks but I have been scrapping at last!! I made a list of all the challenges I want to do for the month and am slowly getting through them.

I haven't done this challenge before so decided to give it a go. We had to use the word Wonder. This is a layout of my niece who lives in the UK and eloped up to Skye in Scotland to get married!!

Prima Class

In November I did another Prima class...this time with Trisha Ladouceur and it's a really beautiful project. I love it!! At the time I didn't have the photos that I thought should go with it but my niece got married a couple of weeks ago and the photos are just perfect.
There are all sorts of pockets and tags on each layer. I believe there are FIFTY layers on this layout. This is what I did with it. Thanks Trish and the class was at Scrappidoo at Currimundi.

I have a few more pics of my Canadian/USA holiday that I'm going to share at last!! The first three are of the area around Lake Waterton.

Head Smashed in Buffalo Jump.

The Indians used to kill the buffalo by making them jump over these precipices and they would all land on top of one another and die.

Old Faithful Geyser

We had to wait quite a long time for this geyser to erupt as we got there just after it erupted. It only erupts about every 1.15 hours. We had no trouble filling in the time as there were quite a few touristy shops.

Look at him...isn't he beautiful?? He walked out on the road in front of the coach and we had to wait for him to get out of the way. I fell in love with these gorgeous animals.

Scrapboutique Retreat

In November after Ingvild's class a friend and I headed down to Darlington Park for this retreat. Love going down there and catching up with all the fabulous girls from the forum. We
ll be going again next year too hopefully, but am planning on going for a week.
With all the talking and laughing I only managed to get a few layouts done. They were all challenges.

Wonders will never cease!! I've actually made time to update this blog! In fact I started to do it yesterday, to put up some more photos of my Canada/USA holiday. Had about three more photos to upload and lost the lot...so I lost the plot!! Decided to try again today.

This is a class I did with Ingvild Bolme (from Prima) when she was in Australia in November. This particular class was held at Scrappidoo at Currimundi.

I went to a fabulous Melbourne Cup party today. Soooo much delicious food!! And the desserts were to die for! There were about twenty of us. We did the usual sweeps etc...no win here!! This is a photo of my friend Gayl and myself.

Scrapboutique Cyber Crop

Last weekend we had a CC over at Scrapboutique...it's the first one I have been able to join in for months! On the Friday night we a speed scrapping challenge...oh my!!! Had only an hour to do it and I'm not known for my speed at this craft! Oh damn it's out on the other computer!! I'll upload at a later time.

Next we had an Inspiration challenge and to use this picture.

Finally there was the Pink challenge. Had to use at least 5 different elements such as P/P, C/S, stickers,alphas, paint/misting, ribbon, fabric, flowers and embroidery thread. I think I managed to use 10 on my layout which I actually won. Don't you love the little dresses? I think they are so cute!

The Celebrity Century

Our cabin with a balcony. Was very cold any time we decided to go out there!!

Gayl and I on the sled dog wagon. Poor dogs were filthy dirty and smelly!

This is me cuddling one of the husky puppies. Was so cute and whimpered the whole time I was holding it.

Me at dinner one night on the ship. 500 to a sitting and there were two sittings so a lot of mouths to feed. Lighting wasn't very good in this.

An Alaskan King Crab. We had some of one of these for lunch one day. Hot dipped in melted butter, very yummy and delicious!!!

I went out on this boat that was in the first episode of The Deadliest Catch. The owner decided to turn it into a tourist venture and it was a great tour.

Kraft it Up

I haven't done a Kraft it Up Challenge before...I don't think!! Lol! Thought I would give it a go.
We had to use a page-maps sketch which had a number of photos on it. I loved the sketch.

Am off to Canada, Alaska and US on 4th Sept so won't be around for a while but am going on a retreat this weekend to Scrappidoo at Currimundi. Am hoping to get a few layouts done...as long as there isn't too much talking that is!!

Didn't think I would get this done this week as I found the Red/orange colour hard to find. Lucky I had a perfectly good (albeit a tad small, ok,ok a lot too small!) shirt to cut up. It has a lot of motifs embroidered all over the front and I had intended to use some of those but didn't think the layout required them.

My Scrap Room

Even though my room is not yet finished...nearly...I thought I would take a few photos and put them up here.
This is the tidiest couple of areas!!! Lol!! Not that much more to do but I'm short on time these days. Where does that time go??
This first pic is of my new desk, drawers etc I bought from Arnold's Scrapbooking at Rothwell. I love this furniture! I've labelled most of the drawers so I can just look along and find what I need. Still a few more to do in that area.

This is a shot of the curtains which I bought in the kids section of The Pottery Barn when I was in Dubai. I totally love them especially the valance!!

By the way, don't you just love my chandelier sticker? Have heaps more stuff to put on the walls yet!

My Prima flowers have their own rack. I have so, so many that I don't have room for them all. Lol!!

A couple of cupboards I use for storage.

When I'm all done I will have a table for the sole purpose of having my tools, sewing machine, slice etc on so I will use them!!!! My printer and computer are to the right of my desk so I can just skim across the floor on my chair.

Some things you may not know about me:

1. I am from Scarborough, Queensland, Australia and I'm currently Designing for Scrappidoo at Currimindi, Qld.
2. I live with my DH.
3. On my desk right now you will find.....a very big mess and everything left over from making my card!!
4. My favourite colours to work with at the moment.....anything to get my mojo happening but I do love pink and green!
5. What kind of themes do you often scrap? I don't have set themes as such...I just like to be able to scrap and get away from it all!
6. Where do you scrap? I have just had a shed built in the back yard and am in the process of still putting thigs away.
7. What is your scrapping process? sometimes I start with the photo and have to go searching for the papers to go with and other times I'll start with the papers.
8. My favourite food is.....Oh gosh!! I can't really pick one...I love ALL food!!
9. My top three favoutite tools are.....scissors, tweezers and trimmer.
10. I get my inspiration from.....everywhere!! Magazines, kids clothes stores, blog surfing.
11. Describe a Technique you used on your project this week.....I love punches so punching is nearly always included on my projects.

.....a long while since I have blogged!! I've been home from my holiday since 16th February but seem to be still in "holiday mode"!! My mojo has gone up the creek and I'm having Nana naps nearly every day. I think yesterday was the first day I've stayed awake...lol!!! I've just returned home after having a full morning at the beauty parlour...a birthday present!! I had an hour's massage, pedi and facial and now I really do feel like having a nap!!

I had such a great time while I was away I thought I'd share a few pics.

Week Two

I can't believe I have been here for a week!! The time is going so quickly, the time to go home will come too soon!!
I have been to a different shopping centre every day and haven't been to the biggest one yet. It's the biggest shopping centre in the world. They also have the tallest building in the world.
Went to the aquarium at Atlantis today and had a lovely lunch in a French restaurant there when we finished. I took quite a few photos at the aquarium.
Went to a scrap shop but they don't have anything I don't have (shame) and a lot of their stock is pretty old. The shop is so beautiful and clean and tidy. Someone going around with a mop all the time! They can certainly come and live at my house!!! Lol!!
Saturday we are going to another place that has a market and we'll have dinner somewhere. Sunday we are going to the gold and spice souks.
It is raining here at the moment...it's their rainy season but, doesn't rain anything like we are used to. The temp is perfect for me but the locals have jumpers and coats on?????? I think it got to 23 today.
There are heaps of expensive cars here! All racing around like lunatics, lol!!
Nobody gets out of bed early so it's great to go to the shops at 10am when they open because there's no-one there. James starts school at 8am and finishes at 2.30. I still can't get used to the fact he goes to school on a Sunday.
Off to watch a movie now.

...in the "sandpit" as it's affectionately known and commonly known as Dubai!!! Had a really good flight over and managed to get quite a bit of sleep. First time I have flown economy for a long time and I tell you i didn't enjoy it one bit!! Lol!! Food was pretty disgusting and the flight was chockers!!
Is great to see the family and they have a fab apartment with an even better view. Right across the water.
Traffic is a nightmare and they all drive like maniacs!!
Have been to the shops already! will be buying shoes and bags I think!!!! Everything is quite over the top and all groceries are in huge sizes.
Would love to live here!!!

I only just managed to get these done today...didn't think I'd make it as other things seemed to be getting in the way but went out cropping taday and got them done. Was a great day for scrapping as it's raining again in Brisbane and by the looks of it we will have plenty more scrap days throughout the summer!!

Unfortunately when I did the stamping on the card it smudged. Oh well, that's what happens when one is in a hurry!!!

These are definitely not colours I would normally work with but am quite pleased with how they turned out. Especially the card.

What a cute little orangutan! Ever since I was a young girl I have always wanted a baby monkey and a baby elephant for a pet! I must be crazy!!!! Lol!!!!
Looks like the rain has cleared away, for the time being anyway. I feel so sorry for all those that are flooded out.

I loved doing #37 this week. Beautiful colours and some of my favourite so I decided to do a bit of creating and make this banner for my new scrap room. The colours will go perfectly!!

I have started moving my "stuff" into my room but OMG! I think it will take a while, lol!! DH keeps asking me when I'm moving. He says I have too much mess inside!!

Have had a beautiful weekend up at Caloundra at a retreat. Managed to get this Color Room layout done besides all my Christmas cards plus a Secret Santa gift.
I really enjoyed doing this laout even though I wasn't sure how I would go with the brown...don't do brown!!!

I Had a Little...

visitor yesterday. Her name is Matilda and she is seven weeks old. I have been trying to see her since she was born and finally I had my first cuddle. She is like a little doll and she had on a little denim dress with a floral frill around the bottom. Soooo cute!! She is the daughter of one of the guys who works with my hubby.

The Scrap with V Cyber Crop was on the 8th and I've managed to get a few things done. Don't seem to be able to upload them to the galery but will keep trying. Haven't updated my blog for ages...seem to be busy but want to try and get more scrapping done. Will have a new room soon...hopefully!! Can't wait for that...will have soooo much more room too.

The DT ONLY challenge. We had to use pink hearts, pink crown, scallops, doodles in pink pen, feather, handmade fabric or ribbon flower, gems and a one word title.

This is the sketch challenge which was done by me.

The card challenge was set by Belinda. We had to use pink P/P,Stamping and a pink butterfly.

This is the ATC challenge which was set by Millie. Had to use feminine form, Pink ribbon and inspirational quote or word.
